HEB hydraulic cylinders with special coatings

HEB hydraulic cylinders are black oxidized as standard. Burnishing is a process for the surface treatment of steel in which a thin, black oxide layer is created. The oxide layer protects the cylinder from rust and improves its sliding properties. Burnishing is carried out by immersing the cylinder in a hot, alkaline solution that forms iron oxide. The thickness of the oxide layer is around 1 to 10 micrometers and depends on the composition of the solution, the temperature, the time and the condition of the cylinder. This coating does not wear off and gives it a light corrosion protection. Furthermore, the black coloring helps to ensure that the heat from the cylinder is transferred well to the environment.

However, some applications require special coatings.

In addition to black oxidation, there are other coatings that are suitable for HEB hydraulic cylinders. For example, cylinders can be provided with a DNC coating, which has high wear resistance and low friction.

HEB hydraulic cylinders with special coatings are designed for demanding applications that require high reliability, durability and performance. We will be happy to advise you on the optimum coating for your cylinder and manufacture it according to your individual requirements.
